Oddskool has been collaborating with an artist called BitBasic over the past few months. Today we completed our first song (you can hear a promo clip here) and we have two more in the pipeline. We're planning to get a four track EP out ASAP so keep your eyes out for announcements.
About BitBasic:
BitBasic (www.bitbasic.co.uk) is a UK electronic musician who also records under the name 'Lime' and can be heard on Spoo Music's 'Spoon Music Volume 1' compilation.

CD sales replaced by MP3 downloads from Warp's bleep.com

We are sorry to announce that CD sales are currently not possible due to a relocation of Oddskool's parent label. Fortunately, Warp Records are stepping in to offer high-quality MP3s for download from their online digital music store 'bleep.com'. The MP3s are very high quality variable bit rate files and are entirely free from DRM.
We hope to be able to offer CDs again soon so be sure to subscribe to Oddskool news to be notified when this happens.

Album review

I got an email from someone who'd bought the Oddskool album 'Two Ways To Listen' describing each of their favourite tracks:

Pepper
"Hong Kong"

Ko Chang and Splang
"Crowded alien urban poky"

My Memory
"Futuristic. A musical landscape is created by layers of volume and qualities of sound to give depth, evoking foreground and background. I liked the stereo effects at the end"

Sonic Delight
"This wants to be coreographed, lots of interesting movement. I heard Michael Nyman's first attempt at electronic music (with contemporary dancers) and I think yours is better than his"

Diet Hogan
"Menacing. If I were to put this on in the car I would drive dangerously"

No Smirking
"Complex and quirky"

Micro Jackson
"Inaccessible, hard to connect with. Like a hologram but every time you move you head back it's subtly different from before"

Kandinsky
"Nice textural contrasts, pleasing"

Monostril
"Replication, mutation, contortion"

Cola
"Bloaty and gross"

The Treacle Mines
"Perky, I'm getting umpa lumpas"

Salt
"Err?"

"I stole into Clwb Ifor Bach to enjoy one of Machine Records Terminal nights. In light of the next morning's responsibilities, I should have left earlier, and maybe the fifth pint of Guinness was a mistake, but the music, and the experience, was well worth the risk. Oddskool was dynamic and spontaneously and a world away from any musical performance I have ever seen before. He had his PC with him and was shaking a mouse - I think - as if his entire digital life depended on it. Crazy, wonderful shit." - Adam Walton's Blog, BBC Radio.
